摘要： A virtual reality environment is applied to teleconferencing such that the environment is used to enter into a teleconference. According to a first aspect, the invention provides a method of controlling volume of sound data during a teleconference, the method comprising providing a virtual representation. including objects that represent users in the teleconference; and controlling the volume of the sound data according to how the users change location and relative orientation of their objects in the virtual representation. It is also preferred according to a second aspect that a user is represented by an avatar in the virtual reality environment, and wherein the user can control its avatar to move around the virtual reality environment. The method may allow a user to meet another through intuitive actions of the user's avatar. The method may further comprise accepting control inputs from the user to control gestures of the user's avatar.

摘要： The inventive method is to be used in a mobile radio telephone system comprising a subscriber station (MS), which supports at least one mobile radio telephone standard, and comprising a base station system (BS, RNC), which supports the first and at least one second mobile radio telephone standard. The subscriber station (MS) signals the base station system (BS, RNC) of a set-up request (SIGn). The base station system (BS, RNC) signals the subscriber station (MS) that a connection should be established according to its request. The subscriber station (MS) subsequently transmits additional information intended for effecting the connection set-up over a channel (PRACHx) to the base station system (BS, RNC) to which one of the standards supported thereby is explicitly assigned. The base station system (BS, RNC) recognizes, by means of the channel (PRACHx) used by the subscriber station (MS) for transmitting the additional information, the standard, which is supported by the subscriber station, and subsequently communicates with the subscriber station according to this standard.

摘要： According to the invention, transmissions of the second radio station are received in the first radio station in which the operating instruction for transmission power of the second radio station is determined. The operating instruction is transmitted during a following transmission of the first radio station to the second radio station, whereupon the latter takes into account the operating instruction for power regulation during one of its following transmissions. Contrary to prior art, no time invariable or fixed step size is used. An operating instruction is used instead which is related to a variable step size in transmission power regulation. The variable step size is subscriber-dependent and time-dependent regulated by the radio stations.

摘要： Described herein is a method of providing synchronisation between a plurality of base stations (300) in a telecommunications system which comprises providing a random access channel in each cell (320). A local base station (300) uses the random access channel in the local cell to transmit a synchronisation signal to neighbouring base stations. For each base station, the time differences between received synchronisation signals from neighbouring base stations and the local synchronisation signal are calculated. Each set of time differences is either used to autonomously synchronise the local base station or is centralised in a radio network controller and a set of corrections distributed from the RNC to the base stations.

摘要： According to the invention, a communications system (e.g. UMTS with CDMA radio interface) can be distinguished between services with high and low bit rate dynamics. The invention provides for an adapted signalling mode of the relevant transport formats. The bit rate of the data of one service can vary significantly and/or quickly (high dynamics) or only slightly and slowly (low dynamics) as time goes by. The data of the services are transmitted via a common physical channel, whereby an in-band signalling is used for the signalling of the transport format of the services with high bit rate dynamics and a signalling in a separated channel is used for the services with low bit rate dynamics.

摘要： According to the invention, a service-specific static rate adaptation factor that controls a service-specific quality of service is determined in a manner already known per se. A dynamic rate-oriented rate adaptation factor is determined for a link, whereby said factor adapts the hypothetical volume of data to a volume of data that is available in the next frame while taking into account the adaptation of the service-specific data rate that is yet to be performed. It is possible to pass through several optimization loops if said data volume is not rigidly predetermined as a result of a sufficient number of transmission channels and spread factors. A service-specific rate adaptation factor is determined by combining the static rate adaptation factor and the dynamic link-oriented rate adaptation factor, whereupon one single and therefore one-step adaptation of the data rate is carried out. Service data is thus compressed or expanded only once with said service-specific rate adaptation factors and inputted into a frame for transmission. The method is suitable for CDMA transmission methods within a UMTS.
