摘要： In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include configuring the device to monitor the presence of the OFDMA beacons and the quality of the OFDMA beacon receptions. The device may transmit the beacon reports that detail the sensed beacons from the beaconing device during an OFDMA beacon opportunity. In another aspect there is provided a method. The method may include configuring a dedicated beacon quality measurement agreement between two or more devices. Based on the agreement defining the beacon transmission and reception periodicity, one device transmits a beacon and the other devices in the agreement monitor the beacon. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

摘要： There is a method and apparatus for transmitting a beacon for D2D communications in a first radio resource selected from among a first set of radio resources of a beacon frame; and for transmitting a broadcast message in a second radio resource selected from among a second set of radio resources of the same beacon frame. In various particular embodiments: the beacon has an indication that the broadcast message is to be transmitted in the beacon frame; the beacon has an indication specifying the second radio resource; there is transmitted a broadcast message header in the second radio resource during an initial subframe of the beacon frame and the broadcast message header has an indication of how many subframes are allocated for the broadcast message; and the broadcast message header has a retransmission control field that selectively indicates which broadcast partners are to re-transmit the broadcast message.

摘要： One embodiment is directed to a method, apparatus, and/or computer program for reducing interference in a local area radio system. The method may include selecting, by a first network node, time/frequency resources to transmit data, transmitting request to send (RTS) bursts to a second network node on the selected resources, and listening for clear to send (CTS) bursts. The method may further include separating received clear to send bursts, decoding the clear to send bursts received from the second network node, determining whether data is allowed to be transmitted based on the received clear to send bursts, and transmitting the data to the second network node when it is determined that the data can be transmitted. The request to send and/or clear to send bursts may be encoded with orthogonal codes when there are multiple cells in a neighborhood of the first network node and/or the second network node.

摘要： Method, apparatus, and computer program product embodiments are disclosed to improve network performance for ad hoc network initiation. Example embodiments include a new operational sequence for wireless devices initiating the use of an ad hoc network. The example embodiments require appropriately enabled wireless devices to only respond to probe request frames from other similarly appropriately enabled wireless devices. In this manner, two devices may avoid the time consuming effort of combining two different ad hoc networks into a single ad hoc network so that the two devices can communicate.
