摘要： An apparatus for correcting a non-linear distortion includes a pre-distorter for pre-distorting a transmit signal inputted from an external apparatus based on pre-distortion characteristics outputted from a pre-distortion characteristic predictor; a modulator for modulating the pre-distorted signal to thereby generate a modulated signal; a frequency up-converter for up-converting a frequency of the modulated signal to thereby generate an up-converted signal; a high power amplifier for amplifying the up-converted signal to a high power amplified signal; a frequency down-converter for down-converting a frequency of the high power amplified signal, thereby generate a down-converted signal; a demodulator for demodulating the down-converted signal, to thereby generate a demodulated signal; a high power amplifying characteristic predictor for predicting characteristics of the high power amplifier based on the pre-distorted signal and the demodulated signal; and a pre-distortion characteristic predictor for predicting the pre-distortion characteristics based on the pre-distorted signal and the predicted high power amplifying characteristics.

摘要： Provided are a Vestigial Side Band (VSB) digital television (DTV) receiver based on is A/53 of the Advanced Television System Committee (ATSC) that can secure backward compatibility of a low-ranked DTV receiver by using parity bytes added to robust data for error correction and obtain RS coding gain from the robust data, and a method thereof. The DTV receiver includes: a receiving unit for receiving a transmission signal including general data and robust data and converting the transmission signal into a base-band signal; an equalizer for determining a symbol level of the transmission signal; a trellis decoder for performing trellis decoding on a symbol of the determined level; a nonsystematic Reed Solomon (NRS) decoder for performing NRS decoding on the trellis-decoded robust data and correcting an error; and a restoring unit for restoring a digital video data stream with respect to the trellis-decoded general data and the NRS-decoded robust data.

摘要： Provided is a frequency synchronizing apparatus and method that can synchronize frequencies between receiving signals and transmitting signals by extracting a carrier error and sampling timing error information in a synchronization process of the receiving signal from a main transmitter or another repeater and reflecting them in the transmitting signal in an on-channel repeater. The apparatus includes a carrier recovery means for compensating a carrier frequency error of a receiving signal; a timing recovery means for compensating a sampling timing error of the receiving signal; a carrier error reflecting means for reflecting the carrier frequency error extracted from the carrier recovery means to a transmitting signal; and a timing error reflecting means for reflecting the sampling timing error extracted from the timing recovery means to the transmitting signal. The present invention is used to form an on-channel repeating network in any transmission system including a digital television broadcasting system.
