摘要： A security device for attaching laptop computers and the like to a desk includes a body portion which is to be received in an aperture of the work surface of a work station or desk. The body portion includes a grommet which fits within the aperture with a flange at the top. A lock plate bears against the underside of the work surface to hold the grommet in place. A combination of pawls and lock teeth hold the lock plate in place. Within the grommet there is a cable lock to which the computing device is attached.

摘要： A slicing apparatus for slicing food items comprises a cutting wire having a pair of mounts; and a body having a pair of opposing arms adapted about respective ends to releasably receive the mounts to secure the wire between the arms whereby the cutting wire is removable for replacement. The arms may be adapted to frictionally engage the mounts to secure the wire. For example, each arm may define a cavity dimensioned to engage a mount. Preferably, at least one of the mounts comprises a pulley with an actuating lever and at least one arm comprises a pulley surface for rotating the at least one mount into engagement with the one arm to secure the wire under tension. The apparatus may comprise a handle and may comprise a support bar mounted for rotation between the arms to support the apparatus on a surface of an item when cutting.

摘要： The invention provides tongs (10) for grasping items that may be releasably locked in a closed position by a rotating locking mechanism (22). In accordance with the invention, the tongs comprise a pair of elongate members (14, 16) joined at a hinge point (17) for pivotal movement between an open position and a closed position for gripping items. A locking mechanism is disposed for rotation about a longitudinal axis extending between the elongate members and configured to rotate between an unlocking position and a locking position, releasably locking the elongate members in the closed position. Preferably the locking mechanism comprises a stop portion (42) defining, in cross-section, a first wider dimension (44) and a second narrower dimension (46) whereby when the locking mechanism is rotated to the locking position, the wider dimension stops pivotal movement of the elongate members.

摘要： A facial exercising method and apparatus are provided. The apparatus has a generally rigid Y-shaped body with a handle portion and a pair of upwardly extending, spaced apart arm members. Each arm member has a face engaging pad. These pads can be placed against the user's face proximate to a muscle group to be exercised. The selected facial muscle group can be contracted and released while the pads are held in place to exercise the selected muscles with resistance. An optional vibration circuit for the apparatus is also provided.
