    • Conventional insulating double-glazing unit and vacuum double-gazing unit do not have sufficient insulating property and the thickness of an insulating/double-glazing unit must be increased to improve the insulating property. The insulating/double-glazing unit according to this invention includes a first vacuum double-glazing unit (2) equipped with two sheets of flat glass (3 and 4) whose peripheries are sealed, which have multi-layered spacers (5) sandwiched between them and whose intermediate part is rendered vacuum, and a second vacuum double-glazing unit (2) or ordinary flat glass (10) whose periphery is sealed by a sealant (12) and which is laminated on the first vacuum double-glazing unit (2) with a gap between them. Because dry air or a rare gas is sealed between these sheets of flat glass, the insulating property can be improved without increasing the overall thickness of the insulating double-glazing unit.

    • A double-glazing unit comprising a multiplicity of spacers interposed between both sheet glasses with gaps closed tightly in a state of reduced pressure. Conventionally, both edge portions of both sheet glasses are spaced from each other by seal members, of which constraint force affects outermost spacers to make them hard to be acted on by the atmospheric pressure as compared with other spacers and put them in danger of moving between the sheet glasses.
