摘要： A sheet post processing apparatus receives sheets from an image forming machine at the output speed of the machine, stops the leading edge of the sheets at feed rolls 15a, b such that it bows as shown, and performs a hole punching operation by punch 50 on the sheet, upstream of the said feed rolls. The sheet is then fed by said feed rolls at a higher speed either by a forward bypass path to a receiver 3a or below through a divergent path by a diverger 48 to an inclined tray (23 figure 1 not shown) for a different post process, eg stapling, and then from the tray to a stacker (3b) by an additional output feed associated with the tray.

摘要： A post processor (1) is disclosed for receiving printed sheets supplied from an image forming machine (M). A sheet feed path is defined for sheets (S) entering and existing the post processor. A gate means is provided for stopping the leading edge of a sheet passing through said feed path. There is a sheet punching means (50) between said gate means (48) and the entry for sheets into said feed path and means for activating said punch means (50) when said sheet is stopped to form holes therein. A means is provided for actuating the gate means (48) to pass sheets following activation of said punch means (50), said feed path being divergent downstream from said gate means (48) and including output roll means (16a, 16b) to feed sheets selectively from said apparatus to an external receiver or vertically downwardly. There is a diverter means (48) in said feed path for directing sheets to said external receiver (23) or vertically downwardly. A downwardly inclined sheet receiving tray is included directly below said feed path having a stopper (24) at its lower end. There are sheet transport feed rolls between said diverter and the upper end of said inclined tray (23), the distance between said sheet transport rolls and said stopper (24) being shorter than the length of a sheet (S) supplied thereto.
