    • The invention concerns an arrangement for indirectly transferring heat to a flowing process medium, in particular for carrying out hydrocarbon steam reformation. The arrangement comprises a heating chamber (1), which can be heated from above by burners (2) arranged in a plurality of rows, and through which chamber a plurality of rows of heat exchanger pipes (3) are led in vertical longitudinal planes, the process medium flowing through these pipes. The waste gases of combustion of the burners (2) are formed in waste gas ducts (4) of refractory material which are arranged parallel to one another and to the rows of the heat exchanger pipes (3) at the bottom of the heating chamber (1). The waste gas ducts (4) have a substantially rectangular cross-section which is constant in the axial direction, and are provided on their longitudinal sides, in the region close to the bottom, with openings (5) distributed over the entire axial length for transferring the waste gases from the heating chamber (1) into the interior of the respective waste gas duct (4). According to the invention, in order to equalize the waste gas flow ratios, flow-guiding on bodies are disposed in the region of the lower part of the rows of the heat exchanger pipes (3) inside the waste gas ducts (4).

    • The invention relates to an installation and a process for generating electrical energy. The installation comprises a unit for discharging H2-laden gas (H2 unit A), a fuel cell system the anode chamber (8a) of which has an H2 supply line (2) from the H2 unit, a gas turbine (19), a combustion chamber (17) and a compressed air generating unit (10) coupled with, and driven by, the gas turbine (19). The invention is characterized essentially in that the H2 supply line (2) is the only fluid connection line between the H2 unit (A) on one side and the fuel cell system (B) and the compressed air generating unit (C) on the other. The compressed O2-laden gas is therefore used exclusively for supplying the cathode chamber of the fuel cells; if need be, some may be used directly for the production of the combustion gas for the compression drive.

    • The invention concerns an arrangement for oxidizing an aqueous medium containing organic and/or oxidizable inorganic substances at high temperature and high pressure. In a reactor the aqueous medium is exposed to oxygen in order to reduce the chemical oxygen requirement of the aqueous medium to a predetermined desired level.
