    • A cooking appliance unit including a top plate on which food items are cooked, a horizontal frame formed around the outer periphery of the top plate, having inlet and outlet ventilation holes on only one side thereof, and a cooking appliance body below the plate and frame having walls defining first, second and third chambers therein. A heating device is provided in the second chamber below the top plate. A control device is provided in the first chamber, the first chamber being in fluid communication with the inlet holes, and the second chamber through a ventilation opening in a partition wall. The third chamber is disposed below the second chamber separated by another partition wall which contains a cooling fan, the third chamber being in fluid communication with the exhaust holes. Thus, the cooling fan draws air through the inlet holes to first cool the control device in the first chamber and then to the second chamber to cool the heating device before being exhausted through the third chamber to the exhaust holes.

    • A cooking stove such as an induction heating cooking stove which is fitted into an aperture on top of a kitchen unit has one or more independent heater units mounted within an outer case, below a top plate which cooking pans, etc can be heated. Each heater unit consists of an open-ended box-shaped internal chassis having one or more heater elements mounted on a top face thereof and an aperture formed in a bottom face thereof. Each internal chassis is provided with a motor-driven cooling fan which acts to produce a flow of cooling air through the interior of the chassis and out through the lower aperture into a ventilation duct, and hence to the atmosphere via a cooling air inlet/outlet section which can be conveniently provided at the upper rear part of the top of the stove. No additional ventilation apertures need be provided in the kitchen unit, and the number of heater elements can be readily varied as required, while the overall design is extremely simple and readily manufactured.

    • There is provided a rotary type regenerative heat exchanger which can effectively prevent an air bypass leak or a gas bypass leak. A rotary type regenerative heat exchanger of the present invention has a rotor (4) rotating around a central shaft (2), a heat accumulator (8) which is constructed in a manner that an air (A) of being a heated fluid and a gas (G) of being a heating fluid filled in the rotor alternately pass therethrough by a rotation of the rotor to repeat heat accumulation and radiation, and a housing provided so as to house the rotor. Further, the rotary type regenerative heat exchanger comprises: a branch pipe (41, 47, 55) for taking out a part of the heating fluid; a seal gas fan (42, 48, 56) for pressurizing the taken-out heating fluid to a predetermined pressure; and a seal gas introducing duct (46, 52) which is provided in the housing so as to introduce the pressurized heating fluid into a predetermined space formed between the rotor and the housing.
