    • Information distribution systems and information distribution methods are provided. In an information distribution system, header files of contents in accordance with a preference of a user of a data terminal are automatically selected, in advance, from a content distribution apparatus and are transmitted to the data terminal, so that probabilities that the header files of the contents have been already stored are very high when the user downloads the content of the body data. If the number of header files to be stored is more than a predetermined number, the most of the header files with respect to the contents of the body data to be downloaded will be in the data terminal. Therefore, on performing a downloading operation, the header files can be played immediately, then subsequently, the downloaded content of the body data are played, whereby the user can appreciate the content which the user desires to view and listen to without waiting time.

    • The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a program capable of improving the visual quality of an image after grayscale conversion.A grayscale modulator 200, which is a ΔΣ modulator that converts the grayscale of an image, includes: an adder 250 that adds the pixel value of the image and the output of a feedback arithmetic unit 240; a quantizing unit 210 that quantizes the output of the adder 250 and outputs a quantized value including a quantization error as the result of the ΔΣ modulation; a subtractor 230 that calculates the difference between the output of the adder 250 and the quantized value of the output of the adder 250, thereby calculating the quantization error; and the feedback arithmetic unit 240 that filters the quantization error and outputs the filtering result to the adder 250. The filter coefficient of filtering by the feedback arithmetic unit 240 is determined such that the amplitude characteristics of noise shaping by the ΔΣ modulator in a frequency band that is equal to or more than an intermediate frequency band are the inverse characteristics of the spatial frequency characteristics of the human eye. The invention can be applied to convert the grayscale of an image.
