    • A position indicating valve is disclosed and includes a housing, a valve port through the housing, and a valve member mounted on the housing for movement toward and away from the valve port. An electrically conductive valve seat is disposed about the valve port, and an electrically conductive valve seal is disposed on the valve member for engagement with the valve seat. The electrically conductive valve seal and valve seat define engageable electrical contact means and circuit means is coupled thereto, whereby the circuit means is closed when the valve seat and valve seal are in contact with each other.

    • An in-line ball valve for on-off, throttling or diverting operation in a fluid line which has a one-piece housing with integral and axially aligned inlet and outlet ports or chambers terminating at orifices in adjacent walls of the valve''s main cavity is disclosed. The ball is held between an annular sealing ring and an annular support ring coaxially aligned in an access bore of the housing that is positioned between the inlet and outlet ports and is directed at an angle to the common axes of the in-line inlet and outlet ports. The ball has a non-linear passage which, upon rotation of the ball, is operative selectively to provide and prevent communication between the inlet and outlet ports through the access bore in the housing. The angularly directed access bore is provided with a threaded plug at its outer end which permits adjustment of the sealing ring as well as the torque required to rotate the ball in the valve even while the valve is in operation. Further, the plug can be removed from the access bore to permit repair or replacement of the ball and ring assembly without disturbing the connecting fittings in the fluid line.

    • A valve including a valve member having two different stable positions, and a valve operator for shifting the valve member between its two stable positions and holding the valve member in those positions. The valve operator includes a shuttle moveable between two extreme positions corresponding to the two stable positions, respectively, of the valve member. A first spring urges the shuttle toward one of its extreme positions and a second spring, stronger than the first spring, urges the shuttle toward the other of its extreme positions, these movements of the shuttle being transmitted to the valve member. A device, such as an electric solenoid, selectively renders the second spring ineffective with respect to the shuttle, so that when the second spring is ineffective the first spring causes the valve member to assume one of its stable positions, and when the second spring is not ineffective, the second spring causes the valve member to assume the other of its stable positions.

    • A valve having a valve body formed with a chamber with which a plurality of ports in the valve body communicate. At least one of the ports is adapted for connection to a source of pressurized fluid. A rocker valve member is pivotally mounted within the chamber and swings between two extreme positions in which it closes and opens at least one of the ports. A diaphragm within the chamber extends from the periphery of the rocker valve member and the margin of the diaphragm is secured in the valve body. All the ports in the valve body face one side of the diaphragm. An operator, for swinging the rocker valve member between its extreme positions, engages the rocker valve member on the side of the diaphragm opposite the side facing the ports, so that the diaphragm serves to isolate the ports from the operator. The chamber is defined in part by a wall facing the side of the diaphragm opposite the side of the diaphragm facing the ports, the wall being spaced far enough from the diaphragm so that when the portion of the chamber between the diaphragm and the port is pressurized, causing the diaphragm to swell in the direction of the wall, the wall is not engaged by the diaphragm.
