Reel and non-endless web apparatus; actuating and controlling.-A notice or advertisement band 10 is wound on and off drums 1, 2 by compressed fluid admitted intermittently to a cylinder 12. The piston 13 carries a cross-head 17 to which are pivoted two pawls 18 which engage teeth uniformly arranged along an endless chain 8 passing over sprockets 9 on the drums. The pawls 18 are brought together by gravity or springs and force the chain 8 along during the upward motion of the piston 13, and are separated by fixed stops 19 so as to ride over the chain teeth when the piston descends under gravity or spring action. A release valve is fitted to allow escape of fluid from the cylinder 12. A detent 21 fixed to the cross-head 17 engages pins 22 on the drum 1 at the top of the piston-stroke to register the band 10. Reversal of the band motion is effected by duplication of the cylinder etc. on the opposite side of the chain 8. When the apparatus is fitted to a vehicle compressed air may be produced at the required occasions by a track projection 23, Fig. 7, which engages a pivoted lever 24 and forces in the piston-rod of one of two cylinders 28, 29 against the action of a spring 31. On passing the projection 23 the spring returns the piston and the compressed air is admitted to the requisite cylinder 12.

摘要： Absolute blood volume in dialysis patients is a useful patient attribute to know for dialysis treatment, diagnosis, adjustments, etc. In some cases, it is difficult or impossible to directly determine absolute blood volume. Estimating absolute blood volume may be used to overcome the inability to directly determine the absolute blood volume. Estimating absolute blood volume may include obtaining a series of measurements of hemoconcentration of a patient over a time period, and estimating parameters for a physiological model based on the series of measurements. The absolute blood volume of the patient may be determined using the physiological model.

摘要： The disclosure describes systems and methods for prioritizing delivery of a communication to a recipient via a first communication channel, such as email, voice, voicemail, IM, SMS, or even physical parcel. Prioritization is done by dynamically identifying one or more relationships between the recipient and information known about the communication, the relationships determined from social, spatial, temporal, and logical data previously collected by the system from prior communications on any communication channel. Based on the identified relationships, a priority score is generated for the communication and the communication is delivered to the recipient via one of a plurality of delivery modes based on the priority score.

摘要： Hemodialysis is used to remove fluid from a patient suffering from end-stage renal kidney disease. An optimization-based approach including a design of an individualized ultrafiltration rate profile may be used to prevent hematocrit levels from exceeding a threshold, thereby preventing adverse effects in the patient. The individualized ultrafiltration rate profile may be based on previously obtained clinical data for the patient, a volume of fluid to be removed from the patient, a specified period of time for removal of the fluid, or a patient-specific fluid volume model. The ultrafiltration rate profile may be time-variant over the specified period of time.
