    • 607,630. Walls; bricks. ABBEY, A. (Bohn. A. J.). Feb. 6, 1946, No. 3713. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A cavity wall is built of small thickness by bonding the inner and outer walls together by L-shaped bricks 10, the depth, length L and width W of which are the same as for a standard brick. The plain bricks 11 have the same width as have the limbs of the L-shaped bricks, and the short limb of the brick in one course overlies and underlies the short limbs of the bricks in the courses below and above. When a corner is built with the L-shaped bricks a box-like cavity is left, and spacer units 12 may be used if the bond so requires. Some short limbs may be directed outwardly from the inner wall, to key with a partition wall. A wall having an intermediate partition, and two cavities, may be built by arranging the short limbs of the L- shaped bricks in the intermediate wall to face, in some cases, towards the outer wall to bond therewith, and, in other cases, towards the inner wall to bond therewith. The short limbs may have through holes which register in the bond and receive reinforcing rods.
