    • Disclosed herein is a spacer including battery receiving parts formed at opposite major surfaces of a frame, respectively, the battery receiving parts having semi-cylindrical inner structures corresponding to outer surfaces of the cylindrical batteries, and assemblable coupling parts formed at opposite sides of the battery receiving parts, respectively, the assemblable coupling parts being engageable with and disengageable from the corresponding ones. The spacer according to the present invention has the effect of stably mounting cylindrical unit cells while preventing the occurrence of internal short circuits, manufacturing a structurally stable battery module, and effectively removing heat generated during charge of the cylindrical unit cells. Furthermore, the spacers can be easily assembled with each other depending upon the number of the unit cells required in manufacturing the battery module.

    • Disclosed herein are a pack case constructed in a structure in which a plurality of battery cells are mounted in the pack case to electrically connect the battery cells with each other, wherein the pack case includes an upper case and a lower case constructed in a hollow structure in which the upper case and the lower case are coupled with each other while the battery cells are mounted between the upper case and the lower case, each case is integrally provided at the inner part thereof with a plurality of spacers for supporting the battery cells, and each case is provided at the outer part thereof with a plurality of ventilation openings which communicate with the interior of each case, and a battery pack including the pack case. The pack case according to the present invention has effects in that a plurality of battery cells are stably mounted in the pack case in a compact structure through a simple assembly process, heat generated from the battery cells is effectively removed during the charge and discharge of the battery cells, and an additional safety unit, such as a detection member and/or a protection circuit module, is easily mounted to the pack case.

Consequently, the spacer according to the present invention has the effect of allowing the production of a structurally stable battery pack using the minimized number of parts, reducing the number of processes, thereby lowering the costs of products, and preventing the occurrence of short circuits between unit cells during the assembly or the use of the battery pack. In addition, the spacer according to the present invention can be cut into various appropriate sizes, as occasion demands. Consequently, the spacer according to. the present invention has the effect of easily adjusting the capacity and output of a battery pack and effectively removing heat generated from unit cells during the charge and discharge of the unit cells.
