摘要： A surgical system for use in removing smoke created in surgical procedures from within an insufflated surgical cavity can comprise a discharge assembly having an end located within said surgical cavity so that surgical smoke inside said cavity can pass from said cavity and through said discharge assembly; a discharge limb having an operational site end and an outlet end, and a wall between said operational site end and said outlet end, in use said open operational site end sealingly connected to said discharge assembly so that said surgical smoke can pass from said discharge assembly and into said discharge limb; and a filter connected to the outlet end of the discharge limb, at least part of said discharge limb comprising a breathable material configured to allow the passage of water vapor through the wall of the discharge limb without allowing the passage of liquid water or surgical smoke.

The housing and the cover define an interior in fluid communication with the bowl interior via the aperture. A filter filters water entering the interior via the aperture. The filter has a profiled wall defining a volute around the aperture, and a hood disposed above the wall. The profile of the hood perimeter substantially corresponding to the profiled wall to define a profiled space between the perimeter and the profiled wall. The profiled space allows water to enter the volute but substantially prevents elongated objects entering the volute.

摘要： A spin tub of a washing machine is driven by an electronically commutated DC motor. The commutation devices are connected to a DC power supply and have free-wheeling diodes connected in parallel therewith. The washing machine includes other components having inductive windings. A controller terminates commutation of power to the motor windings. A voltage threshold detector monitors the voltage of the power supply. Switching structure connects the inductive winding of an unused component in the machine across the power supply when the detector detects that the voltage has exceeded a predetermined value and subsequently disconnects the inductive winding of the unused component from the power supply when the detector detects that the voltage has reduced below the pre-determined value.
