    • A core slabber for removing paper from the cores of fiberboard rolls where the cores are to be reused comprising a horizontal core support, a clamp plate on the core support, a camshaft internally of the core support to move a pin outwardly radially from said core support to move said clamp outwardly to engage the interior of the core. Tracks parallel to the axis of said core support carry a cutting blade on a blade carrier. A mechanism for moving said cutting blade accurately into engagement with selected depths of outer layers of paper on the core in order to cut the paper several layers at each pass in order to remove the paper and prepare the core for reuse. A sensor is also provided to limit the movement of the blade toward the core and also to limit and reverse the traverse of the blade parallel to the axis of the core.

    • A dimension board for gauging the dimensions of cutsize paper with holes includes a generally planar measurement surface, first and second guides attached to the measurement surface and having respective first and second abutment surfaces intersecting the measurement surface along respective, perpendicular, first and second lines of intersection. A plurality of sets of gauge lines may be disposed along the first line of intersection beyond the first guide, along the second line of intersection beyond the second guide, and at the intersection of a pair of lines extending parallel to the first and second lines of intersection but separated therefrom by the desired dimensions of the sheet of paper, whereby when the sheet of paper is placed in abutment with the first and second abutment surfaces, the dimensions of the sheet of paper can be checked against the sets of gauge lines. Also included are further sets of gauge lines on the measurement surface corresponding to the approximate location of the drill holes on the sheet of paper, whereby the location of the drill holes on the sheet may be determined as well.

    • A floating platform assembly designed to provide a stable work surface within cylindrical, vertically upward closed vessels which have axially centered obstructions and limited entry space and which vessels are partially filled with a liquid. The platform floats on a plurality of pontoons and includes an annular platform on which persons inspecting the interior of the vessel can stand. The annular configuration of the platform allows it to be assembled within the vessel around the central obstruction. The platform is modular and is assembled in the vessel from a plurality of identical sections. After the inspection of the vessel interior, the platform is disassembled and removed from the vessel through the limited entry space.
