摘要： The invention describes a method of driving a gas-discharge lamp (1), wherein the lamp (1) is driven at any one time using one of a number of driving schemes and wherein the operating voltage of the lamp (1) is monitored to obtain a number of operation data values (D) during operation of the lamp (1), a target voltage (VT) is determined on the basis of at least one of the number of operation data values (D), and a driving scheme switch-over occurs according to a relationship between the target voltage (VT) and the operating voltage of the lamp (1). The invention further describes a driving unit (10) for driving a gas-discharge lamp (1) comprising a voltage monitoring unit (12) for monitoring the operating voltage of the lamp (1) to obtain a number of operation data values during operation of the lamp (1); a target voltage determination unit (13) for determining a target voltage (VT) on the basis of at least one of the number of operation data values, and a driving scheme switching unit (14) for switching from a first driving scheme to a second driving scheme according to a relationship between the target voltage (VT) and the operating voltage of the lamp (1).
