    • An orthodontic appliance organizer for organizing and loading orthodontic appliances, for example orthodontic brackets, onto set-up trays. The orthodontic appliance organizer includes an organizer tray for holding a removable set-up tray support member and a corresponding set-up tray in a fixed orientation. The orthodontic appliance organizer also includes a storage component having storage compartments for storing the orthodontic appliances. The storage component is accessible by the user to obtain orthodontic appliances for placing into the organizer tray without moving the organizer tray or the storage component. Additional access to the storage component can be made by rotating a portion of the organizer tray to reload orthodontic appliances. The storage component, organizer tray, set-up tray support member and the orthodontic appliance organizer are stackable upon themselves.

    • The present invention embodies an apparatus and method to drive an orthodontic implant while minimizing the risk of damaging the implant. More specifically, a dual option driver (10) is adapted to drive an orthodontic implant (42) using both the base (38) and the top (36) of the head portion of the implant. When engaged with the base (38) of the implant head (36), the driver (10) has a friction fit with the implant due to a retaining clip (48) which mates with the top of the implant head (36). The primary force for driving is transferred to the screw through the base. This protects the neck (40) of the implant head from high torque forces. In addition, the retaining clip (48) allows a clinician to pick up the implant (42) using only one hand so that the clinician never has to touch the implant. Once installed, the driver (10) can adjust the implant (42) by engaging the top of its head portion (36).

The engaging portion (20) may include an opening defining a first shape that substantially matches a second shape corresponding to the orthodontic implant (16). In this regard, the first shape may cooperate with the second shape to move the orthodontic eyelet (12) and the orthodontic implant (16) into locking engagement with one another.

    • An orthodontic bracket for coupling an archwire with a tooth comprises a bracket body, a hinge pin, and a latch. The bracket body includes a first surface configured to be mounted to the tooth and an archwire slot in a second surface. The hinge pin includes a first shaft portion coupled with the bracket body. The latch is coupled to the bracket body by a second shaft portion of the hinge pin. The latch is movable between an opened position and a closed position. A cross-sectional profile of the first shaft portion and/or the second shaft portion of the hinge pin is configured to elastically deform to impart a spring bias to the latch that opposes movement of the latch relative to the bracket body.
