摘要： A recliner mechanism for a reclinable vehicle chair having a back frame pivotally mounted to a seat frame. The recliner mechanism includes a pair of members pivotally attached between the seat and back frames and relatively extensible and retractable to adjust the angle of inclination of the back frame to the seat frame. One of the members includes an elongate slot having a plurality of detents, and a handle is pivotally carried by the other member. The handle includes an element extending through and freely longitudinally slidable in the slot in release position of the handle. In a locking position of the handle the element is located within one of the detents and holds the back frame in a fixed position of adjustment relative to the seat frame.

摘要： A system and method for diagnosing output power of an internal combustion engine includes means for diagnosing potential causes of low engine output power or torque and means for estimating actual engine output power or torque. In a preferred embodiment of the diagnosis of engine output power, low engine output power is first investigated for authenticity to verify whether a low engine output power condition exists. If one exists, a zero fueling engine cranking test is conducted to determine whether relative compression values for each of the cylinders are within specification, and any problems associated therewith are corrected by service personnel. If the low engine output power problem is not corrected in accordance with the engine cranking test, a snap-throttle cylinder balancing test is conducted to balance the relative power contribution from each cylinder. If the cylinder balancing test does not correct the low engine output power problem, a road test is conducted to estimate the actual engine output power for comparison with a rated engine output power over a desired range of engine speeds.

摘要： A secure communications system is disclosed which utilizes an optical infation signal transmitted over a frangible optical fiber. An alarm signal is continuously transmitted from the information receiver site to the information transmitter site over the same optical fiber. Any attempt to penetrate the optical fiber for the purpose of intercepting the information transmitted therein causes the frangible fiber to shatter, thereby disrupting the alarm signal being received at the information transmitter site. The detection of this condition results in the immediate disabling of the information transmitter.
