摘要： An applicator for dispensing a conformal coating material onto a substrate. The applicator has a body with a nozzle having a dispensing orifice at a distal end of the body, and assist air is supplied to a location adjacent the dispensing orifice. A seat is disposed in the nozzle around the dispensing orifice, and an end of a needle is movable into contact with and through the seat to terminate a flow of the coating material through the dispensing orifice and eliminate any coating material flow path downstream of the seat. A needle guide is used to laterally support the needle above the nozzle. The distal end of a nozzle is the distal end of the applicator and is exposed for cleaning.

摘要： A control system for use in a liquid dispensing system to measure and adjust a liquid spray pattern dispensed from the liquid dispensing system. The control system includes a sensor that detect edges of the liquid spray pattern and, from the detected positions of those edges, is operable to adjust the liquid spray pattern to a pattern width set by the operator. The control system is also operable to measure the width of the liquid spray pattern and the offset of the liquid spray pattern relative to a nozzle centerline of the liquid dispensing system and provide warnings to the operator if those measurements fall outside of acceptable ranges.

摘要： During a liquid spray pattern detection procedure, the sensor (50, 52) is operable to detect the presence or absence of an edge of the dispensed liquid spray pattern. The nozzle (18) of the liquid dispensing system is moved to a predetermined position (A) relative to the sensor (50, 52) to determine the presence or absence of the spray pattern and is then moved to a second predetermined position (B) relative to the sensor (50, 52) to again determine the presence or absence of the spray pattern. Based on these determinations, the width of the spray pattern can be verified. This provides a quick means to verify that the width of the dispensed pattern is within certain tolerances.

摘要： A coating apparatus has one coating station with a downwardly directed device to coat both opposite surfaces of two sided circuit boards. One upwardly facing surface of a first board is coated at the coating station and moved to a handling station while a second board is moved to the coating station where its upwardly facing surface is coated while the first board is inverted at the handling station. The first board is then moved to the coating station while the second board is removed to a handling station, and the opposite side of the first board is coated at the coating station while the second board is inverted at the handling station. The two boards are exchanged in the coating station and then the opposite side of the second board is coated there while the first board is exchanged with a third board at the handling station. Two handling stations are preferred, equally spaced from the coating station, with two boards are simultaneously carried by a shuttle in two invertible pallets spaced on the shuttle a fixed distance equal to that of the coating station from the handling stations. Couplings at the ends of the shuttle engage pallet rotating drives as a pallet moves into the handling station.
