    • A system for detecting engine fluid constituents includes an engine having a sample channel having a conduit for a working engine fluid. The system includes an electromagnetic (EM) source that emits EM radiation through a first metal tube, where the EM radiation is EM energy at a wavelength of interest. The system further includes an EM detector that receives a remainder radiation through a second metal tube, the remainder radiation including the remaining EM radiation after passing through the sample channel. The system includes a controller that determines a composition indicator signal representative of an amount of a constituent in the working engine fluid in response to a strength of the remainder radiation, and determines a concentration of a component of interest according to the composition indicator signal.

    • A re-calibration method for a dual-beam NDIR gas sensor uses a calibration curve based upon a combination of physics and sensor measurement components of the sensor to calculate sample gas concentration, then determines a second gas concentration measurement by a secondary gas standard which is used with a reversed calibration curve algorithm to adjust the sensor measurement component. The calibration curve is based upon a gamma ratio (“G”) that has been normalized by G when no sample gas is present in the sample chamber (“G0”), G being a ratio of a signal channel output (“VS”) of the sensor divided by a reference channel output (“VR”) of the sensor. The concentration (“P”) of sample gas in the sensor is calculated through use of the calibration curve by a gas detection equation of P=F(x)=F(y/G0), where x is a normalized ratio of VS/VR and y is G. The reversed calibration curve algorithm is P=F(x)=F(y/G0N), where G0N=y1/x2, y1=G for the sensor, x2=F−1 (P2) and P2 is the second gas concentration of the sample gas.

    • An NDIR gas sensor and methodology use an absorption bias between signal and reference outputs to determine sample concentration of a gas being measured. The absorption bias is created by using a signal channel in a sample chamber with a signal path length that is greater than a reference path length of a reference channel in the sample chamber while both the signal and reference detectors have an identical narrow band pass filter with the same Center Wavelength (“CWL”), Full Width Half Maximum (FWHM) and transmittance efficiency at the CWL. Performance is improved when the reference detector and the signal detector share a common thermal platform that can also be shared by the sample chamber and the infrared source.

    • An NDIR gas sensor takes advantage of a conventional packaging embodiment commonly used to house detectors of all kinds comprising a can, header and a dish sample chamber all welded together to form a single detector unit. The can forms the top, a hollowed out header body forms the middle and a custom dish sample chamber forms the bottom of a completely functioning NDIR gas sensor. Whereas the header body not only accommodates all the optoelectronic and optical parts on its top surface providing the required signal processing functions for the gas sensor, part of its body is excavated below to accommodate a custom dish sample chamber in communication with the gas outside whose concentration level is to be measured. A lens and windows are also fabricated on the top part of this header body so that infrared radiation can enter the dish sample chamber below and then be redirected back above for signal processing. To achieve this optical feat, strategic reflecting surfaces are impregnated on the top of the can housing so as to direct infrared radiation to the dish sample chamber below through a lens and then redirect the radiation above via another window for subsequent signal detection and processing.

A person receiving the goods can prove entitlement to such goods by presentation of a delivery code or a dummy one-time payment card number that can also serve as proof of receipt and by used to trigger a charge for the goods once they have been received.

    • A game uses a deck of cards having three sets of cards with designations 1 through 9, five cards with a Feng Shui designation, four cards with a Green Dragon designation, four cards with an East Wind designation, four cards with a South Wind designation, four cards with a West Wind designation and four cards with a North Wind designation. A player and a dealer hand, each with two cards, is generated and then it is determined whether either or both hands will receive one more card (the player hand can get hit if its cards have a ranking below a first number while the dealer hand can get hit if its cards have a ranking below a second, higher number) and then the hand with the highest ranking of cards is declared the winner. The rankings are based upon pairs of cards according to a preselected order. Players can be allowed to bet on the player's hand or the dealer's hand although a rake is taken from winnings bet on the dealer's hand and bonus bets can be paid when the winning hand is a certain ranking. The game can also be played in a blackjack fashion where multiple players can only bet against a house hand.
