    • Some embodiments relate to a system and method for delivering a projectile toward a target. The system includes a launcher and a propulsion system positioned within the launcher. The propulsion system includes a gas generator that produces enough gas within a certain period of time to direct the projectile from the launcher toward the target. The system for delivering a projectile may further include a targeting system that collects data regarding the location of the target. In addition, the launcher may include a venting system that exhausts a particular amount of gas from the launcher in order to direct the projectile from the launcher at a desired velocity based on data received from the targeting system.

    • A reciprocating doctor (12) is provided for doctoring the cylindrical surface (20) of a roll (10) rotating about a first axis (Al). The doctor includes a doctor back (14) with a blade holder (20) carrying a doctor blade (18). The doctor back has journals (16) aligned on a second axis (A2) parallel to the first rotational axis of the roll. The journals are rotatably supported in sleeve bearings (26), and the sleeve bearings are in turn supported by diaphragms (30) spaced along the second axis. The sleeve bearings are fixed axially on their respective, journals, and the diaphragms have hub portions (34) surrounding and fixed relative to the sleeve bearings, and peripheral portions (38) surrounding the hub portions and fixed relative to a support structure (24). The diaphragms are configured to resiliently accommodate reciprocating movement of their hub portions and associated sleeve bearings relative to their peripheral portions and associated support structure. A first operating mechanism (70, 72) serves to rotate the doctor back about the second axis, and a second operating mechanism (74) serves to impart reciprocating movement to the journals and their sleeve bearings along the second axis.
