    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a Q switch laser so that the maximum pulse repetition rate is enhanced, and pulse length is maintained even a pulse repetition rate is increased, or shorter pulse length is selected.
      SOLUTION: Laser for generating pulsed laser emission 2 includes: a resonator 3; a laser active medium 6 arranged in the resonator 3; and a Q switch 8 arranged in the resonator 3 and capable of setting a first state and a second state to set the quality of the resonator. The quality of the resonator is lower in a first state than that in a second state. The laser also includes: a detection unit 10 which measures the intensity of laser pulse during formation when the Q switch 8 is in the second state and outputs the measured value as an intensity signal I; and a control unit 11 which switches the Q switch 8 from the second state to the first state in response to a predetermined pulse period and the supplied intensity signal I before the completion of the pulse formation of the laser pulse, and controls the Q switch 8.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a monolithic mount enabling an optical element mounted to an inner mounting ring to be highly sensitively adjusted.
      SOLUTION: The optical mount is divided by a plurality of cuts in the mount material into a stationary outer mounting ring, a laterally adjustable inner mounting ring and three bent lever manipulator units which are offset by 120° relative to one another and which comprise a bent lever having a first element, one end of which is connected by way of a bent lever flexure hinge to one end of a second element, the other end of the first element being connected to the inner mounting ring, the other end of the second element being connected to the outer mounting ring, and with the first and second elements enclosing a bent angle smaller than 180°. By manipulating the three bent lever manipulator units, any center position of the inner mounting ring can be adjusted relative to the center of the outer mounting ring within an intended displacement range.
