摘要： An alkali resistant glass composition having improved durability to withstand highly alkali environments at elevated temperatures, such as curing of cementitious products in an autoclave, is conveniently formed from economical and abundant materials. The glass composition includes increased levels of calcium and iron, and relatively low levels of alkali metals, as compared to many other alkali resistant glass products, and comprises essentially of, by weight, >35% Si2O3, 1-25% CaO, 1-15% Fe2O3, 1-10% R2O, and an amount of Al2O3 such that the ratio of Si2O3:Al2O3 is greater than or equal to 1. Alkali resistance can be improved by forming a passivity layer on the surface of glass articles by treating the articles hydrothermally in a basic environment. Optionally zirconia and/or titania may be added to the composition to further improve alkali resistance.

摘要： A multi-function composition for incorporation into settable composite materials is provided. The composition is formulated as an additive to modify the density of the composite material and increase the rate of hardening or strength development of the material. The composition of the additive generally includes an alkaline activation compound such as sodium silicate and a modified low density siliceous material having at least one region morphologically altered by a chemical, such as a partially digested region. The additive can be in slurry form, in powder form, or in an agglomerated particle form. The additive can be produced using a two-stage process in which a siliceous material is reduced in particle size, combined with an alkali compound in a solution and then digested in an atmospheric or pressurized vessel. In some implementations, the solution can be spray dried to form agglomerated particles containing the alkaline activation compound and the low density siliceous particle having one or more partially digested regions.

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing calcium silicate hydrate. A calcareous material is combined with a suspension or gel forming agent. The resultant gel is then combined with a siliceous material to form a preferably homogeneous reactive matrix. This matrix then undergoes elevated pressure and temperature to form calcium silicate hydrate without the need for mixing or agitation. The resultant calcium silicate hydrate has a high post reaction solids content of around 35% or higher.

摘要： The method of preparing a low-density material and precursor for forming a low-density material. An aqueous mixture of inorganic primary component and a blowing agent is formed, the mixture is dried and optionally ground to form an expandable precursor. Such a precursor is then fired with activation of the blowing agent being controlled such that it is activated within a predetermined optimal temperature range. Control of the blowing agent can be accomplished via a variety of means including appropriate distribution throughout the precursor, addition of a control agent into the precursor, or modification of the firing conditions i.e. oxygen deficient or fuel rich environment, plasma heating etc.
