    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle beam irradiation system capable of irradiating an affected area with particle beams in many directions and irradiating particle beam with high positional precision without making the system a gantry structure.
      SOLUTION: The particle beam irradiation system A has a particle beam irradiation unit 1 irradiating the particle beam from one direction, a CT scanner 2 confirming the position of the affected area 3a, a drive section 5 moving a patient 3 from a detecting range 2a of the CT scanner 2 to the irradiation range of the particle beam irradiation unit 1, a patient fixing unit 4 fixing the patient 3 mounted on the drive section 5 rotatably around an axis y in a head to tail direction of the patient 3, and a housing unit 6 housing the drive section 5 and the CT scanner 2 and being rotatable around an axis z perpendicular to the plane including the irradiation direction x of the powder beam irradiation unit 1 and the movement direction of the drive section 5.
