    • A panel (3) for use in a vehicle, in particular in an open roof construction for a vehicle, comprises a substantially rectangular panel main body (4), and at least one elongated reinforcement member (5) positioned at least partly in the vicinity of an edge of said panel main body and firmly connected thereto. The reinforcement member is made of a plastic material and is reinforced by a fiber-based reinforcement. The fiber-based reinforcement may include continuous fiber bundles (7) shaped into a three dimensional loop shaped skeleton. The loops extend in different planes substantially parallel to the elongation of the reinforcement member and are connected by transverse loop sections. The fiber-based reinforcement may also include fibers woven into multiple layers, preferably including fibers running in different directions, said layers being pressed into a sheet (13) with the help of plastic matrix material, said sheet being incorporated in the reinforcement member (5).

    • The invention relates to an open roof construction for a vehicle. A first closing element (3) is movably supported by a stationary part of the open roof construction and is capable of moving to an upward position with at least its front edge. A second closing element (4) is movably supported by the stationary part and is positioned rearward of the first closing element. The second closing element is capable of moving between a closed position in which it closes said roof opening and an at least partly open position. The first closing element (3) may be provided with an air guide (7) on its lower side to guide and direct the air caught by said first closing element when in its upward position during driving of the vehicle into a boundary layer of air which is situated between the outside and the inside of the vehicle at the position of the roof opening (2) when said second closing element (4) is in its at least partly open position. The first closing element (3) is capable of closing a first part of the roof opening (2) in front of a second part of the roof opening that is closed by the second closing element (4) in its closed position, the first closing element is adapted to be raised when the second closing element is moved to its partly open position.

    • A sunshade assembly comprises a sunscreen (4) of which the longitudinal edges are provided with guide strips (13) which are substantially rigid in transverse direction. Opposed elongated longitudinal guide rails (6, 7) each inelude a guide channel section (9) defining a guide channel in which the respective guide strip is accommodated when the sunscreen is moved between open and closed positions. The guide channel of each guide rail being bounded on the side facing the opposed guide rail by a guide flange (14) supporting the guide strip in a direction towards the opposed guide rail. A part of the guide channel section of at least one guide rail is resilient such that at least the portion of the guide flange supporting the guide strip is resiliently yieldable in a direction towards the opposed guide rail under the influence of forces exerted by the sunscreen.
