摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for uniformly producing a roughened surface on a Ti 6/4 alloy so as to bring it into contact with a living bone. SOLUTION: A dental implant of the Ti 6/4 alloy is brought into contact with the living bone by (a) removing a native oxide film from the Ti 6/4 alloy to expose a metal; and (b) bringing the exposed metal into contact with an aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid for a suitable period of time to create a desired surface topography. The dental implant includes (a) a head section for mounting dental prosthesis components, (b) a threaded section for engaging the living bone and (c) a neck section disposed between the head section and the threaded section. At least a portion of the threaded section has the desired roughened surface topography created by etching the threaded section with the aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving tool with at least either a holder structure body or a visually matching marker for facilitating screwing an implant into a bone. SOLUTION: The implant has two internal anti-rotational features. One anti-rotational feature is adapted to engage with the driving tool, and the other anti-rotational feature is adapted to engage an abutment. The implant abutment system comprises an angled abutment to mate with one of the anti-rotational features and a second straight abutment to engage with the other anti-rotational feature. Elastic finger-like bodies are mounted in the abutments, connected to the implant, for providing tactile and auditory feedback indicating when the abutment is properly seated. An abutment screw extends through the abutment and engages implant bore on the distal end side of stems of the abutment for limiting axial movement of the abutment relative to the implant. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation coping for creating an accurate permanent post to support a final prosthesis. SOLUTION: An implant 10 comprising an internal bore having an opening 18 at one end of the implant is initially fixed within a patient's mouth. A support post 80 on which a final artificial prosthesis will be mounted is attached to the implant by allowing a portion of the post to extend into and attach within the bore of the implant. An impression cap is then placed over the post so as to assist in taking an impression of the relevant dental region. The impression cap contains a means to allow a retention bulb 85 to snap onto the impression cap. After the impression material is placed to surround the impression cap, post and implant, the impression material and impression cap are removed. A healing cap 100 is placed on the post and acts as a temporary tooth able to last in the patient's mouth for several months.

摘要： An orthodontic abutment for attachment to a dental implant that is embedded living jawbone having overlying gingiva is set forth. The implant has a gingival surface exposed through the overlying gingiva. The orthodontic abutment is capable of receiving an orthodontic component. The orthodontic abutment comprises a generally cylindrical main body having a lower end for engaging the gingival surface of the implant and a supragingival end opposing the lower end for protruding above the overlying gingiva. The main body has an outer surface between the lower end and the supragingival end. The outer surface includes a roughened portion to which the orthodontic component is to be attached and a gingival portion for contacting the overlying gingiva. The gingival portion extends from the lower end for about 3 mm. The roughened portion typically extends 360° around a central axis of the main body and is preferably adjacent to the supragingival end.

摘要： Improved tensioning or preloading of screws used to assemble dental implants is made possible by using screws which have a coating of gold, particularly screws made of palladium alloy or of titanium or a titanium alloy which has been plated with a different biocompatible metal, such as platinum, nickel or copper. The increased preload improves the stability of the dental implant assembly because greater mastication forces are then required to pry apart contiguous components of the implant assembly and bend the screws.
