    • A covered stent (18) includes a generally tubular stent body (16) having inner and outer stent body surfaces (26, 24). A sleeve of porous material (20) encloses the stent body and has inner and outer portions (40, 42) opposed to the inner and outer stent body surfaces. A therapeutic agent is located along the stent body, the agent being diffusible through the material. A diffusion barrier (30) is located between the inner material portion and the agent along the stent. The diffusion barrier prevents passage of at least a significant amount the agent through the inner portion of the sleeve of porous material. A diffusion restrictor (32) is located between the outer portion of the sleeve of porous material and the agent along the stent. The diffusion restrictor permits passage of the agent through the inner material portion at a therapeutic level.

    • Fluid delivery devices for the direct delivery a fluid or drug into a vessel, such as a coronary vessel on a beating heart. One device generally includes an elongate cannula having a proximal end, a distal end, and at least one lumen extending between the proximal end and the distal end of the cannula. A connector is coupled adjacent to the proximal end of the cannular defining at least a first lumen and a second lumen. At least the first lumen of the connector extends coaxially with and is in fluid communication with the lumen of the cannula. An insertion needle having a sharp distal end, is movably disposed lengthwise in the first lumen and the lumen of the cannula. A flexible elongate tubular body is operatively coupled to and in fluid communication with the second lumen of the connector.
