摘要： Polymeric compounds containing at least one poly(oxyalkylene) chain and at least one thiosulphuric acid or thiosulphate group, and the cured products thereof, having useful application to textile fibers and to human hair. The compounds containing more than one thiosulphuric acid or thiosulphate group are curable and can be used with advantage in textile finishing, for example in the pigment dyeing and printing of fibrous materials including natural and synthetic fibers and blends thereof, in imparting shape stabilization or antistatic properties to fibers or fabrics, and for the flat setting and permanent creasing of fabrics. The compounds may be applied to hair to improve its handle and for permanent waving and setting.

摘要： Flame resistance of polyamide materials, notably wool and other keratinous materials, is enhanced by application of tungsten from acid solutions of anionic tungsten complexes. Still more effective treatment is obtained by simultaneously applying anionic complexes of zirconium or titanium. The complexes can be applied by exhaustion from a bath, preferably below pH 3.5 and at temperatures from 30 DEG to 100 DEG C. Dyes can be simultaneously applied from the same bath. Textiles can be padded in the solution and dried. The complexes may be isopolytungstates or heteropolytungstates and may be prepared with the help of organic carboxylic or hydroxycarboxylic acids.

[Also in Divisions C6 and D1] An imitation leather material is made from a porous textile substrate such as a non-woven wool felt, or a woven and felted wool fabric, to which an elastomeric polymer or plastic surface layer, such as polyether or polyester urethane or polyvinyl chloride, is applied in a liquid state. The free ends of the hairs of animal skins are straighteend by electrostatic or other means and embedded in the polymeric layer. The polymeric layer is then partially dried and/or cured and the animal hairs pulled out leaving a surface with tiny holes or follicles after which drying and/or curing is completed. Alternatively, the drying and/or curing can be completed with the animal hairs still embedded in the polymeric layer and the hairs then cut off flush with or just above the surface, leaving the hair ends embedded in the polymeric layer. In both forms the material is finally dressed as by buffing to produce a smooth leather-like surface.

摘要： 1480213 Shrink resistance I W S NOMINEE CO Ltd 18 July 1974 [27 July 1973 (3)] 35882/ 73 35883/73 35884/73 Headings D1B and DIP [Also in Division C3] Keratinous fibres are finished by treatment with a curable compound having the general formula: in which R' is a trivalent organic radical: R" is or contains a cross-linkable moiety; x#1; n#1: and C m H 2m O is a straight chain oxyalkylene group where m # 3 when n = 1, m#10. The cross-linkable groups may be thiol. blocked or free isocyamate groups, -NHCOSO 3 - or thiosulphate groups. A typical I is prepared by reacting 3 moles of polytetramethylene glycol with mercaptosuccinic acid. A composition for treatment may be prepared from 50 parts by wt.) of I, 25 parts of a 50% aqueous solution of a polyoxyethylene alkyl phenol surfactant and 175 parts of water. After application to wool the treated fabric may be cured by heating at 100C for 10 minutes in a forced air oven. This may be followed by a monethanolamine sesquisulphite/steam/vacuum setting treatment. I may also be used in a process for the simultaneous dyeing and shrink resistant treatment of keratin fibres by impregnating at pH 2-10 at 10-60C with an aqueous composition as above containing a water soluble dye containing anionic groups e.g. solubilised vat dyes. reactive dyes and acid dyes.
