    • Timer generates a first time code with a relatively high resolution. Second time code, given from a reproduction device in relation to video or music reproduced by the reproduction device, has a resolution lower than the first time code. By correcting the timer-generated first time code on the basis of the second time code, there can be generated a corrected first time code having a same over-time progression as the second time code but having a higher resolution than the second time code. Once an operator, such as a mixer, is operated at given reproduction timing of the video or music during recording, data indicative of the operation is stored in a memory along with the first time code corrected in accordance with the second time code. In reproduction, the memory is read in accordance with the first time code, corrected on the basis of the second time code.

    • A record and reproduction controlling device is connected to a hard disk memory via a bus. This controlling device receives from a computer information necessary for read/write operation, on the basis of which the controlling device performs its own process to write to or read from the hard disk. The record and reproduction controlling device temporarily stores tone data read out from the hard disk memory into a first buffer memory and then transfers the tone data from the first buffer memory to a second buffer memory. The tone data thus stored in the second memory is then read out at a predetermined readout rate to reproduce a musical sound. It is possible to select either a first reproduction mode for reproducing a data file having tone data of plural channels recorded in an interleaved state, or a second reproduction mode for permitting a simultaneous reproduction of plural data files each having not-interleaved tone data recorded therein. The controlling device controls the tone data transfer from the first buffer memory to the second buffer memory depending on which of the reproduction modes is employed.

    • There are provided a mixing apparatus that enables a user who is mixing and the like to be positively engaged in the performance of a musical composition at a low cost by simple operations, a method of controlling the same, and a mixing control program. A plurality of first audio data are input, and the input plurality of first audio data are mixed. A storage device stores a plurality of second audio data. A plurality of operating members are each disposed to be depressed and have a sensor for detecting the depression. At least one of the plurality of second audio data stored in the storage device is assigned, respectively, to at least one of the plurality of operating members. The second audio data is reproduced when the at least one of the plurality of operating members to which the second audio data is assigned is detected as being depressed. The second audio data reproduced by the reproducing device is input, and the input second audio data and the input first audio data are mixed.

    • In a waveform data processing apparatus, a transfer section reads out waveform data of multiple tracks stored in a first storage device in data units, and transfers the read waveform data to a second storage device having an access speed higher than an access speed of the first storage device. A reproduction section reads out the waveform data of the tracks from the second storage device for every sampling period, and which reproduces an audio signal according to the read waveform data. A control section replaces old waveform data which has been read from the second storage device by new waveform data which is read from the first storage device, whereby the audio signals of the tracks are continuously reproduced. The control section controls the transfer section to transfer, from the first storage device to track regions provided in the second storage device for respective tracks, pieces of the waveform data corresponding to the respective track regions, in an order of the tracks having a smaller number samples of non-reproduced waveform data or in an order of the tracks having a smaller number units of non-reproduced waveform data.
