    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "watch and safety assurance cable network" system capable of inexpensively checking behaviors in a family member's household from anywhere in the world.
      SOLUTION: Todays's Japan is steadily turning into an aging society with fewer children nationwide. Away from hometown, anyone may well be anxious about his/her parents live in comfort/safety. Any family member or son/daughter want to watch over everyday life of his/her parents from afar. For this purpose, a locally servicing wired cable infrastructure is utilized to provide basic services for watching with sensors or the like the pattern of everyday living in a subscriber's household (aged household, solitary aged person household, in-home nursing care household, and other household) and consolidating at a cable station's server or an information center necessary information data for the family member or son/daughter watching behaviors in the household (time, place) from afar so as to allow for 24-hour access, or for periodical mail transmission/reception of and access to most updated information, and also provide fire emergency communications.

    • This invention realizes an editing system and control method thereof capable of significantly improving working efficiency of editing work. A proxy editing terminal device creates an EDL with low-resolution video/audio data, resulting in reducing time to create the EDL. Further, the low-resolution video/audio data and high-resolution video/audio data having the same contents and different resolutions are previously stored, so that the creation of a final edit list with the high-resolution video/audio data based on the EDL can be started in a short time after the EDL is created with the low-resolution video/audio data. Thus working efficiency of the editing work can be significantly reduced with reducing time to create the EDL and the final edit list.

    • A cutting apparatus includes a cutter roll and an anvil roll. The cutter roll has circumferential ports formed in the circumferential surface thereof and a side port formed in one side surface thereof. A positive/negative pressure manifold has a positive pressure port and a negative pressure port formed in its side surface that faces the one side surface of the cutter roll. When the side port is communicated with the negative pressure port, a negative pressure is applied into the circumferential ports causing a cut portion to be held by the cutter roll, and when the side port is communicated with the positive pressure port, a positive pressure is applied into the circumferential ports causing the cut portion being held to separate from the cutter roll. A slight gap is formed between the facing side surfaces of the cutter roll and the positive/negative pressure manifold.
