    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel which can generate a chlorine dioxide gas within a brief period and which allows the preservation of the generated chlorine dioxide over an extended period and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: At the first step, a polyethylene glycol copolymerization product and an aqueous di-2-decyl-2-tetradecanol solution are obtained by dissolving a high-molecular-weight polymer, the polyethylene glycol copolymerization product, and the di-2-decyl-2-tetradecanol into hot water, whereas at the second step, a gelled flocculate is obtained by heating the polyethylene glycol copolymerization product and the aqueous di-2-decyl-2-tetradecanol solution, whereas at the third step, an aqueous chlorine dioxide solution is obtained by dissolving a chlorine dioxide gas into water, whereas at the fourth step, a chlorine dioxide gel is obtained by homogeneously mixing the aqueous chlorine dioxide solution, the polyethylene glycol copolymerization product, and the di-2-decyl-2-tetradecanol flocculate.
