The damper additionally supports an outer circumferential surface of the bobbin, from the frame, so as to allow the bobbin to reciprocate in a straight line. Support of the bobbin by the damper in both lengthwise and width directions results in minimization of wobble and distortion, so that accurate sound is generated by the speaker.
