    • A three hopper charging installation (10') for a shaft furnace is disclosed. It comprises a rotary distribution device (14) for distributing bulk material in the furnace by rotating a distribution member about the furnace central axis (A) and a first, a second and a third hopper (20, 22, 24) arranged in parallel above the rotary distribution device and offset from the central axis. A sealing valve housing (32') is arranged between the hoppers and the distribution device. It has a top part (46') with a first, a second and a third inlet (150, 152, 154) respectively communicating with the first, the second and the third hopper. A first, a second and a third sealing valve (170, 172) are provided in the top part. Each sealing valve comprises a flap (176) which is pivotable between a closed sealing position and an open parking position. The sealing valve housing also has a funnel shaped bottom part (48') with an outlet communicating with the distribution device. According to the invention, the top part (46') of the sealing valve housing (32') has a tripartite stellate configuration in horizontal section with a central portion (156), in which the inlets are arranged adjacently in triangular relationship about the central axis (A), and with a first, a second and a third extension portion (160, 162, 164), each sealing valve being adapted such that its flap opens outwardly with respect to the central axis by pivoting into a parking position located in the first, second or third extension portion respectively.

    • An apparatus (20) for insertion and extraction of a fuel injection lance (10) into and out of a tuyere stock (1) of a shaft furnace, in particular of a blast furnace, is proposed. The tuyere stock (1) comprises a lance sheath (12) that defines an insertion/extraction axis (49) and is mounted in coaxial extension of a lance channel through which an injection lance can be inserted into the tuyere stock. The carriage is movably supported by the linear guide and cooperates with a connecting device (42) for connecting an injection lance to the carriage such that the injection lance can be moved axially along a translation axis by the carriage. The linear guide comprises a mechanism (36; 38) for linearly moving the carriage along a guide axis (35) and a first coupling half (64; 65; 66) for mounting the linear guide (22) to the mounting support attached to the tuyere stock. The mounting support (50) has a second coupling half (57; 58; 62) cooperating with the first coupling half (64; 65; 66) of the linear guide for removably attaching the linear guide to the tuyere stock.     • The present invention proposes a hot blast control valve (10) for a metallurgical installation, in particular for controlling the flow of hot blast of a blast furnace. The hot blast control valve (10) comprises a metallic valve housing (12) with a refractory lining (20) in which a gas channel (22) is defined; and a valve member (24) rotatably arranged in the gas channel (22) so as to be able of varying a free passage in the gas channel (22) by rotation of the valve member (24) about a rotation axis (26) between an open position and a closed position. The valve member (24) has an envelope with rotational symmetry about the rotation axis (26) and has a through passage (28) arranged in the valve member (24) in a direction transversely to the rotation axis (26) of the valve member (24). The through passage (28) has a cross- section substantially identical to that of the gas passage (22). Furthermore, the through passage (28) is arranged in the valve member (24) so as to be aligned with the gas channel (22) when the valve member (24) is in its open position.

    • The invention relates to an upper or lower sealing valve arrangement for a shaft furnace charging installation. The arrangement comprises a shutter-actuating device (20; 120; 220; 320; 420) for moving a shutter (10) between a closed position in sealing contact with a valve seat (12) and an open position remote from the valve seat. The shutter-actuating device is of the dual-motion type, more specifically of the type configured to confer to the shutter a superposition of two rotations about substantially parallel axes (29; 39). It has a primary tilting arm (22) on a first tilting shaft (24) that defines the first axis (29) and is equipped with bearings (26) that support the primary tilting arm (22). A secondary tilting arm (32) carries the shutter (10) is connected to a second tilting shaft (34) that defines the second substantially parallel axis (39) and has bearings that support the secondary tilting arm (32) on the primary tilting arm (32). The shutter-actuating device has a mechanism (100; 200; 300; 400) configured to tilt the secondary tilting arm (32) when the primary tilting arm (22) is tilted. According to the invention, the first tilting shaft (24) is configured as hollow sleeve shaft and the shutter-actuating device (20; 120; 220; 320; 420) comprises a reference rod (42) extending through the first tilting shaft (24).
