摘要： A knife may act as top or bottom knife of the cutting device of an electric razor or beard trimmer that consists of a top and a bottom knife. In its cutting area designed as a smooth sliding surface on a comb strip (6), the knife (1) has a plurality of teeth (7, 8) with intermediate slits (9) whose edges are designed as cutting edges (31). The knife (1) further has one or several walls angled in relation to the cutting area. The cutting area (30) of the knife (1) consists of a blade (2, 35) made of hardened steel sheet. The teeth (6, 7, 34) of the blade (2, 35) are produced by etching. The walls (3, 4, 46) of the knife (1, 29) are produced by welding one or several shaped steel sheet sections on the blade (2, 35). Welding is carried out in such a way that the resulting temperature increase of the blade (2, 35) be so reduced that the hardened steel sheet (2, 3) is not disadvantageously deformed, nor loses its hardness or wear-resistance. A particularly sharp and durable knife (1) is thus produced, which in addition can be produced in a particularly simple and economic manner.
