摘要： An ink composition comprising: a) from 0.1 to 20 parts colloidal polymer; b) from 0.1 to 20 parts colorant; c) from 25 to 80 parts glycerol; d) from 0 to 40 parts of an organic solvent other than glycerol; and e) from 20 to 45 parts water; wherein all parts are by weight and the ink composition has a viscosity of less than 30 mPa.s at 25 °C. The ink composition is especially suitable for use as an ink jet printing ink and can be printed with acceptable printer operability and latency characteristics to provide prints having good wet-fastness and dry rub-fastness. Where the colorant is a pigment, good pigment dispersion stability is also provided.

摘要： Etch or deposition processes in the manufacture of semiconductor devices, microelectronic machines and waveguides are controlled. The invention uses optical inspection to monitor structural features where the feature spacing (22) is so small in relation to the inspecting light probe wavelength that diffraction effects would normally prevent useful data being secured, A spectrally narrow illumination source is provided at a selected wavelength or wavelengths. The article being processed has an ordered feature structure. Each wavelength within the light probe is selected such that a whole number of wavelengths, or an integral fraction of a wavelength, compounds to a length within +/- 30 % of one of the feature spacings.

摘要： The thickness of a silicon wafer (3) within a processing vacuum enclosure (1) is measured or monitored by an optical apparatus (50) via a window (4). The optical apparatus (5) comprises a laser which is tuneable across a range of wavelengths while maintaining a narrow bandwidth. The optical apparatus (5) also includes a detector receiving reflected light. The wavelength variation produces interference effects which are used, by examination of the detector output, to give a measure of thickness or other parameters.
