    • The invention relates to the production of lighting bodies intended for surface lighting as used in illuminated advertising for illuminated traffic signs and elsewhere. Unlike current methods of surface lighting in which selective or elongated light sources (10) are mounted behind the lighting surface, rays of light are passed over the entire area (5) of a surface to be illuminated in an even manner using a more complicated ray course in the lighting body. Said design involves the use of flat illuminated bodies. The principle behind the illuminated bodies of the multiflex surface lighting system is that a very intensive, sharply directed beam (or a plurality thereof) is passed into the cavity of two parallel opposing plates (1, 2) which are the main reflex plate (2) and a transparent cover plate (1) and can portray a very wide range of contours (letters etc.).
