摘要： Systems and methods of functionalizing particulates are provided. A method of functionalizing particulates includes providing particulates to a reactor, fluidizing the particulates in substantial absence of solvents, providing a silane containing material to the fluidized particulates, and reacting the silane containing material with the fluidized particulates to provide silane-functionalized particulates. The silane-functionalized particulates may be utilized in separation media and other industrial applications.

摘要： Polymerizable compositions are described containing colored polymerization indicators which confer a visible color on the unpolymerized compositions. Upon polymerization, the compositions exhibit reduced or eliminated color. The compositions can also change their opacity during polymerization. The compositions provide easy visual differentiation between the unpolymerized compositions and substrates on which the compositions are placed. The compositions are useful in clinical and laboratory applications such as those involving teeth, dental implants, orthodontic materials, artificial teeth and bones.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for preventing or reducing haze development in a beverage. Shane-treated silica filter media are synthesized. By contacting the beverage with the silane-treated silica filter, one or more haze-forming components bind to the silane-treated silica filter media and are removed by filtration. In addition, particulates in the beverage are removed by filtration. Beverages that tend to develop haze on standing and/or chilling such as alcoholic, fruit, and vegetate e beverages, are suitable for the present invention. This haze in a beverage is mainly caused by polyphenols and proteins. The present invention provides a method that can reduce the levels of both polyphenols and proteins. The silica filter media useful for the present method include rice hull ash, oat hull ash, or diatomaceous earth.

摘要： The present invention provides methods for separating one or more components of interest from a sample containing particulates and soluble materials. The method comprises the steps of: (a) filtering a sample through silica filter media whose surface silanol groups have been reacted with one or more silanes, and (b) simultaneously capturing particulates and binding a soluble component to the silica filter media. The bound soluble component of interest is subsequently eluted from the silica filter media. In one embodiment of the invention, unwanted soluble materials are captured by the treated silica filter media and desired component of interest is recovered from the flow-through. In another embodiment of the invention, different components of interest are recovered from both the eluate and the flow-through. Preferred treated silica filter media are silane-treated rice hull ash, oat hull ash, or diatomaceous earth.

Agents connect with other agents utilizing a Mυlti-IO Socket Engine that allows for true multi-directional communications socket connections. Multi-directional communication allows a first agent to communicate with a second agent simultaneously as the second agent is communicating with the first. The overall network configuration is determined by the types of socket connection the agents establish.

摘要： The present invention provides methods for separating one or more componentsof interest from a sample containing particulates and soluble materials.
