摘要： Methods for producing ligand substrates and arrays, e.g., peptide and nucleic acid arrays, as well as the arrays produced thereby, methods for use of the arrays and kits that include the same are provided. In the subject methods, a substrate having a surface displaying photocleavable functional groups that produce surface bound photocleavage produced functional groups upon irradiation is first provided, where the photocleavable groups are then cleaved to produce a surface that displays desired functional groups. The resultant substrates, optionally after an additional functionalization step, are then contacted with ligands or monomeric precursors thereof, e.g., via deposition of each different ligand onto a different region of the surface, resulting in covalent attachment of the contacted ligands to the surface. The subject methods find use in the preparation of a variety of different types of arrays, where the produced arrays find use in a variety of different applications, including both genomic and proteomic applications.

摘要： A preformed moulding 1 for a cattle grid base comprises a former for a pit with support means for a grid. The moulding may be made from glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) and when seated in a suitable pit in a track or road acts as a former for pumped or poured concrete. When set the concrete both fills and supports the GRP moulding and forms a foundation for the support of the grid or bars. The moulding may be shaped with a rebate 7 at its top sides with a recess 8 to receive a shock absorbing pad or strip 9 on which the grid or bars are supported. The moulding may also comprise a sloping floor (12 figure 3) with drain holes (13 figure 1) at the lowest points, one or more ramps 11 to allow small animals to escape from the pit should they fall in and one or more vents to allow air to escape during the back filling with concrete. Furthermore the moulding may be constructed in two or more separate sections with matching edges which may be fastened to each other at the site of construction. Also included is a method of constructing a cattle grid using said preformed moulding.

The material is fed between the roller a, Fig. 1, and the guard-roller c mounted in brackets d on the shaft e. An adjustable weight or spring f keeps the roller c raised, and a catch j may be used to keep it from contact with the top roller. Should an obstacle come between the rollers a, c, the roller c is pressed down into contact with the roller b, its rotation is reversed, and the obstacle is rejected. When the guard is applied to a lower feed, Fig. 5, the weight of the roller c itself keeps it from contact with the top roller unless moved by an obstacle.

These rings are rather larger in diameter than the grooves, and are contracted by being forced into place, the reaction serving to press the packing-rings K, L against the inclined faces of the ring G, whereby they are kept tight.
