    • A system for communicating digital information over wires having a great deal of harmonic distortion, attenuation and noise, such as a power line, employs a transmitter which generates a signal representing a symbol of data. Some form of signal modulation such as Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) or Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) is used to encode the data. The transmitter will continuously transmit or retransmit each data symbol until an acknowledgment is received from a receiving device. At the receiving device, the received signal is sampled and multiple repetitions of the same symbol are averaged to reduce noise. The averaged samples are then analyzed to demodulate the data. Both transmitting and receiving devices are clocked at the same frequency which is derived in both from the fundamental power line frequency. As such, the generation and detection of the data signals is coherent, making it possible to average out the effect of noise over multiple frames thereby ensuring communication even over highly noisy transmission media.

    • A tail light assembly includes a plurality of tail lights having substantially same appearance affixed on the rear light panel of a vehicle and the assembly is electrically connected to the rear light control of the vehicle. Each of the tail lights includes an open housing having a reflective chrome interior surface and an axially disposed light bulb socket at a rear end of the surface; a colorless LED light bulb disposed in the light bulb socket; and a clear colorless front cover affixed upon a front perimeter of the housing. When the tail lights are not activated, the plurality of tail lights have a uniform chrome appearance, and when being activated, one or more tail lights emits a colored light substantially different from the chrome appearance, to indicate braking, turning or backing up of the vehicle.

    • An apparatus is disclosed comprising a suite of sensors for measuring instant static and dynamic pressure and the speed and acceleration of a vehicle, such as a bicycle. A microprocessor receives data from the sensors and calculates power expended by the rider or other power source by finding the total of all forces impinging upon the vehicle and rider, thereafter multiplying by the speed of the ground vehicle. In some embodiments accuracy is improved by calibration techniques, user input of data, or temperature compensation of certain factors. Other data, such as wind speed, distance traveled, altitude, or surface grade may be presented to the user. In one embodiment data is stored for later analysis.
