    • In a method as well as a device for planning and/or monitoring an interventional high-frequency thermoablation, 3D image data of a region (1) of interest of a body are acquired with a tomographical imaging apparatus and are presented on an image display device. In the method, a database is provided in which, for at least one interventional instrument available for high-frequency thermoablation, a volume region for at least one high-frequency power generable with the instrument is established in which a thermoablation is achieved in a tissue with the instrument at this high-frequency power. Upon marking at least one ablation position in the image representations, a 3D object representing the volume region or a volume region derived from this is then mixed in at least semi-transparently at this ablation position. The method and the associated device enable a better planning and monitoring of an interventional high-frequency thermoablation by the user.

    • A patient positioning system for positioning a patient relative to radiographic equipment. The system includes: a 3D optical imaging system for optically scanning the patient, such 3D optical imaging system having a focal plane and providing, for each position on the object, data representative of the intensity of reflected energy received by the system from such position and data representative of distance from such position on the object to the focal plane; a table apparatus for supporting the patient and for moving the table relative to the radiographic equipment in response to positioning signals; and a processor responsive to data from the radiographic equipment and the data from the a 3D optical imaging system for producing the positioning signals. The system enables a method for displaying temporal changes in a patient positioned with a bore of radiographic equipment.

    • A method is disclosed for production of computer-tomographic scans via a CT system of a patient during an intervention with an instrument. An X-ray tube is moved on a rotation plane around the patient in order to produce a beam cone, and a detector with a plurality of detector elements measuring the radiation intensity after passing through the patient. Computer-tomographic scans are reconstructed from the measured values in a computation unit. The central direction of the beams of the scanning beam cone is set at an angle to the intervention axis, and at least one slice plane which differs from the rotation plane of the beam cone is displayed on a display.

    • An interactive user assistant for imaging processes analyzes medical image data pertaining to regions of interest. The user assistant compares displayed medical images and/or the data underlying the medical images with expected medical image data. The user assistant identifies whether or not the displayed medical image meets expectations or is plausible. The user assistant may use previously analyzed data in determining whether the displayed medical image is as expected. If the displayed medical image does not meet expectations, the user assistant determines whether or not the cause of the disagreement between the displayed and expected images is ascertainable. If the cause of the disparity between the images is ascertainable, the user assistant presents specific recommendations. If the cause of the disparity between the images is not ascertainable, the user assistant presents general suggestions.
