In a machine for washing and sieving gravel a coaxial series of rotating drum sieves 12, 20, and 26 in a central structure 1 has a surrounding drum casing 3, the sieve 12 having the largest mesh and discharging its residue directly through the outer casing 3 by way of a channel 16, Fig. 3. Material discharged from sieve 12 accumulates in the closed end portion 15 and falls out through channel 16 whenever this passes underneath the machine. The outer casing 3 in line with sieve 12 comprises a fine sieve 13 for extracting sand to a hopper 10 before the material passes into a washing drum 17 with paddles 22. From the drum 17 the material is fed by a scoop 19 into sieve 20 of intermediate mesh, the residue falling out through the outer casing by way of channel 21 and the fines being washed in the outer drum before being lifted by scoop 24 into the fine sieve 26 for a final extraction of sand into hopper 11. Water is introduced by pipes 28, 29 with a sluice 30 to the feeding shoot 9. The machine is inclined to feed gravel through.

摘要： An element for sealing and monitoring a body (1) comprises two seals (4, 5) separated from each other by supporting elements (6) with at least one open channel (7) between them. One or more sensors (18) are arranged at the outlet openings of the channel (7). The seals (4, 5) are connected to each other at their edges. The supporting elements (6) consist of a material which is permeable but resistant to the flow, preferably a material whose flow resistance perpendicular to the channel (7) is less than that parallel to the channel (7). The position of a leak (29) can be detected by two sensors (18) which, in a refuse dump, also determine where the leak (29) is located in the lower or the upper seal (4, 5).
