摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual piling device with improved efficiency and safety in installation to and removal from a pile upper part of a long pile.SOLUTION: A manual piling device comprising at least a cylindrical body of a long straight pipe shape into which a pile is inserted and which has a head-lining part against which the head of the pile abuts at the time of insertion. A notch is formed down to the lower end in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical body. The length of the notch is at least 1/2 of the longitudinal length of the cylindrical body, and the width of the notch is at least 1/3 of the bore diameter of the cylindrical body. The upper part of the main part of a pile including the upper end can be inserted from the side of the cylindrical body of the manual piling device using the notch of the cylindrical body of the device as an opening. Thus, the device can be efficiently and safely attached to and removed from the pile upper part with the pile stood on the ground even for a pile longer than the height of an operator without using a stepladder or the like.

摘要： The substituted norbornanones represented by general formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 is an alkenyl group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms or an alkylidene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is a saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 7 carbon atoms with the dotted line between the two carbon atoms indicating a single bond when R.sub.1 is an alkenyl group and a double bond when R.sub.1 is an alkylidene group) are useful for perfume compositions. The substituted norbornanones represented by the general formula (I) may be prepared from the corresponding alkenyl or alkylidene norbornanones with diols in the presence of an acid catalyst.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for preparing solid p-disodium hydroxybenzoate which is characterized by comprising the steps of reacting phenol, carbon tetrachloride in an amount of 0.9 to 1.2 moles per mole of phenol and sodium hydroxide in an amount of 7 to 20 moles per mole of phenol prior to the reaction in an aqueous liquid containing 10 to 40% by weight of p-disodium hydroxybenzoate and/or sodium chloride in the presence of a transition metal powder in an amount of 0.01 to 1.00% by weight based on the weight of a reaction system at a reaction temperature of 50.degree. to 150.degree. C.; cooling the resulting reaction mixture to a level of -20.degree. to +20.degree. C.; and separating said p-disodium hydroxybenzoate therefrom.
