摘要： A methanol reforming catalyst that generates a reformed gas containing hydrogen by reforming methanol in the atmosphere containing oxygen and steam contains a metal oxide support and Pd—Zr alloy with which the metal oxide support is impregnated. The reforming catalyst accelerate a steam reforming reaction of the methanol as an endothermic reaction and a partial oxidation reaction of the methanol as an exothermic reaction while suppressing generation of CO gas. Also, a methanol reforming apparatus having the methanol reforming catalyst does not need a heater for the reforming reaction.

摘要： A fuel reforming system, comprising a reformer (2, 3, 4) which produces reformate gas from rich raw fuel gas, and supplies the reformate gas to the fuel cell (28) during a reforming operation, a burner (1) which produces lean combustion gas, and supplies the lean combustion gas to the reformer (2, 3, 4) during a warmup operation of the reformer (2, 3, 4), and a nonflammable fluid supply apparatus which supplies a nonflammable fluid other than fuel and air to the reformer (2, 3, 4). During the warmup operation of the reformer (2, 3, 4), the lean combustion gas is supplied from the burner (1) to the reformer (2, 3, 4), and when warmup of the reformer (2, 3, 4) is complete, the nonflammable fluid is supplied from the nonflammable fluid supply apparatus to the reformer (2, 3, 4), and the reforming operation of the reformer (2, 3, 4) then starts.

摘要： A methanol reforming catalyst that generates a reformed gas containing hydrogen by reforming methanol under the presence of oxygen and steam, comprises a catalytic component I containing Cu oxide and Zn oxide, and a catalytic component II containing metal oxide and one of Pt and Pd.Also, another methanol reforming catalyst comprises a catalytic component I containing Cu oxide and Zn oxide, a catalytic component IIA containing first metal oxide and a noble metal, and a catalytic component IIB containing second metal oxide and one of Pt and Pd. The second metal oxide forms an alloy more easily than the first metal oxide. The auto-thermal reforming process can be stably accelerated in the methanol reforming reaction using these catalysts. Also, there are provided a reformer, a reforming apparatus, and a fuel cell system employing these methanol catalysts. Since a heater or a reducing apparatus can be omitted in these apparatuses, etc., sizes of these apparatuses, etc. become small and thus these apparatuses, etc. are suitable for the installing into the mobile body.

This catalyst composition can be employed as a reforming catalyst of the alcohol or the hydrocarbon-based gas to produce hydrogen gas for a fuel cell, or as an electrode catalyst.
