    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoist unit which operates as a passenger elevator during a normal operation and which operates as an evacuation elevator in any abnormal condition.SOLUTION: The evacuation control unit HY is used for an elevator which is arranged in a hoistway of a building frame and includes a cage 13 lifted/lowered by a drive unit KS. The evacuation control unit includes a connection release part RK which releases a binding force against an ascent/descent movement of the cage 13 by the drive unit KS when an operation of the drive unit KS is stopped, a speed suppressing device SY which suppresses a lowering speed of the cage 13 when connected to the cage 13, and a connector RS for connecting the cage 13 and the speed suppressing device SY together when the operation of the drive unit KS is stopped. The connector includes a movable connection part RSK which is connected to a movable end as the other end of a connecting wire having one end connected to the speed suppressing device and a cage connecting part RSC which is provided in the cage and can make connection to/disconnection from the movable connection part.
