[Class 128] [See also Group XV] A folding tray for holding jigsaw puzzles comprises a folding floor divided transversely into equal portions with rigid ends extending above the floor and side members of about the same thickness as the ends, the floor being retained in the extended position by the side members being placed along the sides of the floor in the same plane as the ends. As shown the side members 3 are integral with the floor 1, and in use these members, hinging along lines 8, fold down on the floor and are held there by press buttons or the like 5, acting as struts to keep the floor from collapsing along a hinge line 2. The members 3 may be separate from the floor, their ends fitting in grooves in the rigid ends 6, in which case they may be hinged, as at 4, or not.

Card and like stands.-A hinged strut for a photograph frame &c, is scored to allow it to assume a shallow V- shaped form in cross section, a looking member being provided to maintain the strut in its supporting position. In the construction shown, the strut 1, hinged at 5 to a portion 3 gummed to the back of the show card &c., is scored along the lines 6, 8 to assume the shape shown in Fig. 3, when held in the supporting position by a locking member 2 hinged at 5 to the portion 3 and formed with undercut projections 10 to engage over the edges of the strut. A hanger tab may be cut from the material of the strut.

Card and like stands.-In means for suspending photograph frames or other display articles of oblong or like-shape with either axis vertical, a length of flexible 'material is connected to the frame at pairs of points which are symmetrically disposed to each axis, and is free to slide through the points of connection so as to form suspending loops. In the form shown an endless cord 13 is threaded through six holes in the strut and through two holes in the back of the frame 2 in the manner shown, the upper holes 14, 15 in the strut being symmetrical to the major axis of the frame, and the middle and lower holes 16, 17, 9, 10 being symmetrical to the minor axis. In a modification, the strut has four holes, and the cord is secured in a single hole in the frame. Eyelets may be used instead of connection. If the frame is not provided with a strut, the cord may bo threaded through holes in the back of the frame.

In the construction shown the strut 1, locking member, and a tab 4 by which the device is secured to the frame. &c. are formed of one piece of cardboard. In a modification, two locking pieces are provided one on each side of the strut. The strut may be inclined relative to the edges of the frame and its free end chamfered so as to support the frame with either its long or short edges horizontal. The strut may be cut out from the material of the showcard &c.

Card and like stands.- In picture-frames of the type comprising a stiff mount having one or more flaps adapted to fold back upon the picture, the back of the frame is provided with one-half of a snap-fastener, which is adapted to pass through an aperture in the flap last folded, the other half of the fastener being carried by a strut or the like. The stiff mount may be formed by a piece of glass A, to which a mask in the form of an envelope-blank is attached by adhesive, the centre panel of the mask being apertured to the size of the picture. One part of the fastener D may be mounted on a card C placed at the back of the picture, and, after passing through apertures B in the flaps B of the mask, is engaged by the part of the fastener mounted on the strut E. The fastener is placed equidistant from a long and a short side of the frame, so that the frame may be supported with either side horizontal. The strut is provided with two suspension holes F, one or the other of which is above the centre of gravity of the frame in either of its two positions. The flaps may be rectangular and one of them may carry the fastener D. Two sets of apertures B may be provided, one set being located midway between the short sides, and the other midway between the long sides of the frame. Register guides for the picture may be attached to the glass by adhesive. The arrangement may be applied to other frames, such as those having a wooden mount.
