    • An electrostatic printing process is disclosed wherein a printing roll is formed by forming a latent magnetic image in a magnetic imaging member, decorating the latent magnetic image with a nonconductive magnetic toner to form a toner image, transferring the toner image to a conductive member and temporarily fixing the toner image to the conductive member. The toner image on the conductive member is electrostatically charged, while the charge is dissipated from the remaining area of the conductive member. The charged image of magnetic toner is decorated with an electrostatic toner comprising a colorant and a binder resin to form an electrostatic image which is transferred to a substrate. Pattern change is accomplished by washing off the fused toner from the conductive print roll and forming a new fused toner image on it.

    • Magnetic printing apparatus for forming on a substrate a colored print of an original colored design, said apparatus comprising a ferromagnetic printing means which is imposed on an electrically conductive support; means for forming on the ferromagnetic printing means a magnetic image of a photocolor-separated film positive of the original colored design; means for developing the magnetic image on the ferromagnetic printing means with a toner comprising a ferromagnetic component, a dye and a resin; and means for transferring the developed image to the substrate. Optionally, the apparatus may include: means for adhering the developed image to the substrate; means for fixing said dye on and/or in a substrate; and/or means for removing said ferromagnetic component and said resin.

    • A process is described for dyeing a disperse dyeable material such as a textile or film, comprising the steps of: forming a latent magnetic image in a magnetic imaging member comprising a ferromagnetic material on an electrically conductive support; developing the magnetic image by applying thereto a ferromagnetic toner comprising a ferromagnetic component, a dye compnent containing a dye which is substantially sublimable at from 160.degree. to 215.degree. C., and a resin, which substantially encapsulates the ferromagnetic component and the dye component; transferring the developed image to a paper sheet, applying a thermally stable sublimable-dye-permeable polymeric material to the side of the paper sheet bearing the toner image material into contact with a textile material to be dyed; and heating the textile material and paper sheet to thereby transfer the dye image from the paper sheet through the polymeric material to form a dye image in the textile material.

    • A process is provided wherein film (e.g. polyester) which has been dyed by at least one disperse dye, is contacted with textile material in the presence of sufficient heat to cause the dye to sublime or vaporize and transfer some of the dye from the film to the textile material, thereby effecting level dyeing of the textile material. Both the film and textile material have affinity for the dye, and softening points which are higher, and glass transition temperatures which are lower, than the temperature needed to effect sublimation or vaporization and transfer of the dye. Also a process is provided wherein film is continuously dyed with at least one disperse dye and thereafter continuously contacted with a textile material at elevated temperature so as to sublime or vaporize the dye and transfer dye from the film to the textile material.
