摘要： A disk drive apparatus mounting socket includes a socket portion which supports a disk drive apparatus, a lead portion which is connected to the disk drive apparatus supported by the socket portion, and a terminal unit which is electrically connected to the lead portion and to circuits on a board. A disk drive apparatus, which is connectable to an information processing unit, includes a connecting unit which connects the disk drive apparatus to the information processing unit, and an interface unit which controls the disk drive apparatus in response to a control signal, a data bus signal, and an address bus signal which are generated by the information processing unit and are inputted to the disk drive apparatus from the information processing unit via the connecting unit.

摘要： A disk storage device includes a data transfer control device for transferring data from a higher rank device to a storage medium and transferring data from the storage medium to the higher rank device, an identification device having identification information for determining whether it should be permitted or inhibited to write data into a predetermined recording area of the storage medium, and a data transfer command device, responsive to a data recording command given by the higher rank device, to order the data transfer control device to write data into the storage medium according to the identification information of the identification device. In response to a data write command given to the storage medium by the higher rank device, the data transfer command device collates a state of the data write command with the identification information possessed by a predetermined sector of the storage medium. When the identification information indicates data write inhibition, the data transfer command device does not order the data transfer control device to transfer data to the storage medium.

摘要： A disk type recording and reproducing apparatus includes a disk type recording medium, and a dual head including a reading head and a writing head. A center of the core of the reading head is shifted in the radial direction of the disk type recording medium relative to a center of the core of the writing head. The disk type recording medium has a plurality of recording tracks each having a plurality of sectors. Each of the sectors has an ID division provided ahead of a data division disposed in the circumferential direction of the disk type recording medium. The ID division has recorded therein identification information identifying the sector. A center line of the ID division is shifted in the radial direction of the disk type recording medium relative to a center line of the data division by a distance equal to a distance by which the center of the core of the reading head is shifted in the radial direction of the disk type recording medium relative to the center of the core of the writing head. The data division has identification information identifying the sector stored in a position ahead of data to be recorded and reproduced.

摘要： A phase locked loop circuit having a voltage controlled oscillator for generating a clock signal with a frequency determined by a voltage control signal supplied to the voltage controlled oscillator, an AD-conversion circuit for sampling a target signal with a timing determined by the clock signal and for converting sampled values into digital data, a phase locked loop control circuit for generating control data with values representing values of the digital data, and a DA-conversion circuit having an adjustable conversion characteristic for converting the control data into an analog signal and for outputting the analog signal to the voltage controlled oscillator as the voltage control signal. The adjustable conversion characteristic of the DA-conversion circuit is adjusted on the basis of an input signal having predetermined playback characteristics and when the phase locked loop circuit is part of a recording and reproducing apparatus, the input signal is a reproduced signal from a signal recorded on a recording medium.

摘要： A recording and reproducing apparatus is provided with a recording circuit to record information on a recording medium rotated and a reproducing circuit to reproduce the information from the recording medium rotated. In the mode of reproducing the information from the recording medium, the reproducing circuit retries reproduction if any error has occurred to the data reproduced. The reproducing circuit is provided with a characteristic changing circuit to change its reproduction characteristic. In the mode of reproducing information from the recording medium, the reproducing characteristic of the reproducing circuit is changed by the characteristic changing circuit if any error has occurred to the reproduced data. The reproducing circuit uses the changed reproducing characteristic to retry the reproduction.

摘要： In a thermal transfer recording system for use in a facsimile machine for a line-printer, a carrier such as a transfer film on which a heat transferable ink or any other record forming material is applied and a recording medium such as a recording paper are used. The carrier and the recording medium are wound in advance in a roll independently of each other. The carrier and the recording medium are brought into pressure contact with a thermal head in a recording section with the carrier and the recording medium overlapping one on another. Heat from the recording section causes the ink or any other record forming material on the carrier to be transferred onto the recording medium to thereby carry out the recording. The carrier and the recording medium may be conveyed in the normal direction or in the reverse direction. Upon the conveying the carrier and the recording medium in the normal or reverse direction, a predetermined constant tension is always applied to the carrier and the recording medium thereby preventing creases and strains from being generated in the carrier and the recording medium.
