    • 462,743. Tobacco pipes. CECEK, E. June 11, 1935, No. 16855. Void. Convention date, June 11, 1934. [Class 130] A cooling-space 8 in the lower part of the bowl has openings 10 for cooling-air, the hot air escaping by inclined holes 9. The space 8 may be formed in an insertion piece 4 screwed into the upper and lower parts 1, 2 of the bowl, a smoke tube 5 connecting the bowl to a chamber 7 leading to the stem, into which extends a plug-like extension 15 of the mouthpiece. The smoke passes from the chamber 7 through passages 18, 19,20 and chambers 16, 17 formed around narrowed parts of the plug 15. This plug may be used as a cleaner. In modifications, the cooling-space 8 may be formed as an annular groove formed in the part 1 of the bowl, or there may be several annular grooves, one above the other, forming ribs around the bowl. Fig. 7 shows another form, in which the chambers 7, 16, 17 are formed by a tubular insertion piece 12, which is closed at the bowl end and is held in the stem by the engagement of the tube 5 with a hole therein. The insertion piece is exposed to the air by slots 14 to effect further cooling of the smoke.

    • 424,232. Tobacco pipes. CECEK, E., 32N, Cechova, Prague. Jan. 22, 1934, No. 2240. Convention date, Jan. 21, 1933. [Class 130] In a pipe having an inner bowl 1 fitted in an outer bowl 2, the smoke passes successively through chambers 5, 6 connected by a groove or passage 10 through a rib on the inner bowl. A further chamber 7 is preferably provided in the stem 4. In a modification, the partition 8 between the chambers 5, 7 is closed by a plug forming an extension of the mouthpiece. In a further form, Fig. 3, annular chambers 6, 17 around the inner bowl are arranged so that the smoke from the chamber 5 passes through a bore 15 to the chamber 17 and through a groove 16 and the chamber 6 to the outlet 11 leading to annular chambers 7, 19 around an extension of the mouthpiece 3, which is formed with plugs 14, 18 to separate the chambers 5, 7, 19. In a further modification, the smoke chamber 6 is helical.
