摘要： A computer-implemented method for receiving information at a first device is provided. The method includes storing a first data object on the first device in a first device-specific representation, receiving a batch of information in response to the first device transitioning from an off-line state to an online state, processing the modification event to recover the modification, updating the first data object based on the recovered modification, and transmitting an acknowledgement indicating that the modification event was successfully processed by the first device. The batch of information includes a modification event. The content of the batch was determined based at least on a state of data stored on the first device. The modification event was generated based on at least a modification made to a second data object stored at a second device in a second device-specific representation.

A carrier strip includes a first layer having at least one opening, two bands applied to opposite edges of the first layer, the bands including an adhesive on at least one side, and a label secured into the opening and attached to the adhesive. At least one access perforation may be located on the first layer that is horizontal and adjacent to one side of the opening. The access perforation facilitates removal of the label from the carrier and allows for insertion of a cable through the label. A plurality of horizontal carrier perforations may further be located between each opening on the first layer to facilitate removal of the carrier strip from a printer.

In practice the brush is preferably pushed over the carpet or hard surface to agitate and/or expel a debris-laden cleaning solution that has been previously applied to the carpet or hard surface to accomplish cleaning. The cleaning solution can be any conventional chemical solution suitable for the purpose of carpet or hard surface cleaning, but the brush of the present invention is preferably used in conjunction with a dry powder or substantially neutral pH dry crystalline formula cleaning solution for carpets. Finally, the optional axle, bearing and wheel configuration permits easy disassembly of the brush to allow easy replacement of the brush and to permit accommodation of various brush sizes and bristle varieties.

摘要： In a time-shared bus computer system with processors having cache memories, an adjustable invalidation queue for use in the cache memories. The invalidation queue has adjustable upper and lower limit positions that define when the queue is logically full and logically empty, respectively. The queue is flushed down to the lower limit when the contents of the queue attain the upper limit. During the queue flushing operation, WRITE requests on the bus are RETRYed. The computer maintenance system sets the upper and lower limits at system initialization time to optimize system performance under maximum bus traffic conditions.

Another method of freeing a pipe stuck in a subterranean well can include determining a location of a portion of the pipe which is biased against a wall of a wellbore by differential pressure, and directing a beam of light to the pipe portion.
