摘要： A flat field laser recorder includes means to direct a beam from a laser through an acousto-optic light modulator, an acousto-optic light deflector/modulator, and a beam scanner, to scan-lines on a linearly-moving light-sensitive film. The acousto-optic light modulator is operated by electrical oscillations which are amplitude modulated by a video information signal. The acousto-optic light deflector/modulator is operated by electrical oscillations which are amplitude modulated to provide an automatic brightness control of the beam, and are frequency modulated to provide an automatic scan-line spacing control. In addition, a plurality of simultaneous oscillation frequencies are selectively applied to the deflector/modulator to provide beam spot elongation control in the direction perpendicular to the scan-lines.

摘要： Systems and methods for relaying electrical signals representing acoustic response of a volume of tissue to light and ultrasound stimulation. In an embodiment, a plurality of ultrasound transducers receive acoustic energy from the volume and generate electrical energy, which is transmitted via an electrical path to a relay system. The ultrasound transducers are operated at a wide band frequency of at least 1 MHz to 5 MHz to receive acoustic energy from the volume of tissue responsive to light stimulation and at a narrower band frequency to receive acoustic energy from the volume of tissue responsive to acoustic stimulation. The relay system relays the electrical signals to an optoacoustic system or an ultrasound instrument for further processing depending on whether the electrical signals resulted from ultrasound or light stimulation. In an embodiment, optoacoustic, ultrasound, or other images are generated from the electrical signals and may be coregistered, overlayed, or displayed.

摘要： A handheld optoacoustic probe includes an ultrasound transducer array and optical fibers with a first end formed into a fiber bundle providing an input and a second, distal end providing an output. A light bar guide retains the distal end of the optical fibers on the same plane. One or more optical windows may be associated with, and spaced from the light bar guide so as to prevent contact between a coupling agent and the distal ends of the optical fibers, thus mitigating a potential acoustic effect of the coupling agent in response to light emitting from the fibers. A silicon rubber acoustic lens doped with TiO2 may be provided, with a reflective metal surrounding the outer surface of the acoustic lens. A handheld probe shell houses the light bar guide, the ultrasound transducer array, and the acoustic lens.

摘要： A scanner for reading binary digit spots on a transparent film includes a laser light beam which is directed through a beam splitter and through the film to a mirror, from which it is reflected back through the film to illuminate a small area on the film. Light which is not blocked by a recorded spot on the film continues back to the beam splitter, from which the beam is directed to a photodetector. The photodetector is positioned to receive light from solely a portion of the illuminated area of the film, to provide high definition scanning not adversely affected by distortion of the illuminating light beam by imperfections in the film and mirror.
